Coleraine, Victoria

Coleraine is a town in Victoria, Australia on the Glenelg Highway, 350 kilometres west of the state capital, Melbourne and 35 kilometres north-west of Hamilton in the Shire of Southern Grampians local government area. It was named after the town in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. At the 2006 census, the urban area of Coleraine had a population of 991.

Black Saturday bushfires

The Black Saturday bushfires were a series of bushfires that ignited or were burning across the Australian state of Victoria on and around Saturday, 7 February 2009. The fires occurred during extreme bushfire-weather conditions and resulted in Australia's highest ever loss of life from a bushfire; 173 people died and 414 were injured as a result of the fires. As many as 400 individual fires were recorded on 7 February.

Wannon Falls

Wannon Falls are waterfalls located in the Southern Grampians Shire, 19 km west of Hamilton, Victoria, Australia. The Falls are fed by the Wannon River that has its head waters in the Grampians mountains. The Falls are unexpected after driving west across gently undulating lava plains. They plunge over a basalt lava cliff dropping into a large plunge pool 30 metres below.

Henty, Victoria

Henty is a town in south western Victoria, Australia. The town is located in the Shire of Glenelg local government area, 373 kilometres west of the state capital, Melbourne. It is also an Australian wine region. It has one of the cooler climates of any Australian wine region and is known for its white wine production of Chardonnay, Riesling, Semillon and Sauvignon blanc as well as a small red wine production of Pinot noir. Henty Post Office opened on 16 April 1885 and closed in 1977.
