Neerim District Secondary College is a small rural high school located in Neerim South, Baw Baw, Victoria, Australia. The school holds 226 pupils aged 7–12 and opened in 1961. The current principal is Michaela Cole and the current vice-principal is Stuart Nicolson. At the 2006 census, Neerim South and the surrounding area had a population of 1,602. The Post Office opened on 1 February 1883. The town was connected to the Victorian Railways network with the opening of a branch line from the main Gippsland line at Warragul on 18 March 1892, later connecting to Noojee in 1919.

Tarago Reservoir
Tarago Reservoir is a 37,580-megalitre water storage located on the Tarago River near Neerim South, approximately 100 kilometres east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The reservoir was built in 1969 to supply water to towns near Neerim South, the Mornington Peninsula and Westernport regions. In 1994, Melbourne Water stopped using water from the reservoir as it had become unsuitable for drinking.

Jindivick
Jindivick is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on Jacksons Track, in the Shire of Baw Baw. The first Drouin Post Office opened on 5 April 1876, was renamed Jindivick in 1878 and Drouin West within months. Jindivick Post Office opened again in 1880 and was renamed Tarago in 1888. The third Jindivick Post Office opened later in 1888 and closed in 1994.
