King Valley

The King Valley, or King River Valley is a wine-producing and agricultural region centred on the King River in north-eastern Victoria, Australia between Wangaratta and the Alpine National Park. There are a number of small towns within the region including Cheshunt, Whitfield, King Valley, Edi, Claremont, Moyhu, Byrne, Docker and Oxley. The fertile valley area has been used since the 1880s to grow a variety of crops including hops and tobacco.

King River (Victoria)

King River is a river in Victoria, a state of Australia. It is a tributary of the Ovens River and ultimately the Murray River on the western slopes of the Australian Alps. The King Valley is a beautiful, cool climate wine grape growing area. It is a river used by kayaking enthusiasts with many level 2 and level 3 rapids. Cheshunt, Victoria

Cheshunt is a small rural village situated in the King Valley in north-east Victoria, Australia. It is located about 50 km from Wangaratta and is close to the Alpine National Park. At the 2006 census, Cheshunt and the surrounding area had a population of 200. Cheshunt Post Office opened on 2 August 1886. Golfers play at the course of the Whitfield and District Golf Club.

Moyhu is a small town in North East Victoria, Australia. It is situated approximately 2.5 hours' drive from Melbourne, and 25 minutes from Wangaratta. It is part of the Rural City of Wangaratta. At the 2006 census, Moyhu had a population of 536 - 268 males and 268 females. Exactly 50% of the population was male; 50% was female. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people made up 0% of the population. Approximately 22% of the Moyhu population consists of children aged 0-14. .
