Fitzroy River (Victoria)
The Fitzroy River is a river in southwestern Victoria, Australia. It begins near the western edge of the Lower Glenelg National Park, flows through Heywood, and enters the Southern Ocean at Tyrendarra. The river is 54.2 kilometres in length and flows in a southeasterly and southerly direction from its source in the Cobboboonee State Forest, through farmland to Heywood, then between the western edge of the Tyrendarra lava flow and the Mount Clay escarpment, and thence across a coastal plain.

Heywood is a town on the Fitzroy River in the Australian state of Victoria. It is situated at an elevation of 27 metres amidst rolling green hills in an agricultural, pastoral and timbercutting district. Heywood is 357 kilometres west of Melbourne at the intersection of the Princes and Henty Highways and 27 kilometres north of Portland. It is on the railway line to Portland, at the junction of the presently-unused branch to Mount Gambier, South Australia.

Heywood railway station, Victoria
Heywood railway station is a disused station in the town of Heywood, Victoria, Australia. The last passenger train between Ararat and Portland was on 12 September 1981, operated by a DRC railcar. The platform and station building are still in place at Heywood although in a disused condition. Some of the former yard remains as unconnected BG track with power connections also provided to a work camp area.
