Fitzroy Crossing, Western Australia
Fitzroy Crossing is a small town in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, 400 kilometres east of Broome and 300 kilometres west of Halls Creek. It is approximately 2,524 kilometres from the state capital of Perth. It is 114 metres above sea level and is situated on a low rise surrounded by the vast floodplains of the Fitzroy River and its tributary Margaret River.

Margaret River (Kimberley)
The Margaret River is a river in the Kimberley of Western Australia. The headwaters of the river rise in the King Leopold Range West of Halls Creek and flows in a westerly until it merges with the Fitzroy River of which it is a tributary. The junction of the two rivers is close to the Fitzroy Crossing. The river was named in 1879 by the explorer Alexander Forrest during an expedition in the Kimberley area.

It is located about 11 kilometres south of Fitzroy Crossing and 83 kilometres north east of Yungngora in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, The station was established in 1885, and in 1902 occupied and area of 1,750,000 acres . The country is on the flood-plain of the Fitzroy River and is well covered in Mitchell and Flinders grass with large areas of spinifex.

Karnparri community
Karnparri is a small Aboriginal community, located proximate to Fitzroy Crossing in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia, within the Shire of Derby-West Kimberley. Karnparri is located adjacent the much larger Bayulu community. Most community members were previously living at Bayulu. The first dwelling, which still remains at the centre of the community, was constructed around 1997. Community members are both [Gooniyandi Gooniyandi] and [Walmajarri Walmajarri] people.
