Jarrahwood, Western Australia

Jarrahwood is a small town located in the South West region of Western Australia, along the Vasse Highway between the towns of Busselton and Nannup. The town is named for the Jarrah Wood and Sawmills Company which operated in the area and operated a private railway from the district to Wonnerup, which was purchased by the Government in 1906. The town was gazetted in 1932.

Division of Forrest

The Division of Forrest is an Australian Electoral Division in Western Australia. The division was created in 1922 and is named for Sir John Forrest, the first Premier of Western Australia and a federal Cabinet minister. It is located in the south-western corner of the state, including the towns of Bunbury, Busselton, Collie and Harvey. Before 1943, it was a Country Party seat, but since 1949 it has usually been held by the Liberal Party.

Nannup, Western Australia

Nannup is a town and shire in the South West region of Western Australia, approximately 280 kilometres south of Perth on the Blackwood River at the crossroads of Vasse Highway and Brockman Highway, linking Nannup to most of the Lower South West's regional centres. At the 2006 census, Nannup had a population of 501.

Shire of Nannup

The Shire of Nannup is a local government area in the South West region of Western Australia, approximately 280 kilometres south of the state capital, Perth and 60 kilometres southeast of the coastal resort town of Busselton. Its seat of government is the town of Nannup, where about half of the Shire's population reside.

Abba River

The Abba River is a river in the South West of Western Australia. The headwaters of the river rise in the Whicher Range in the Millbrook State Forest then flow in a northerly direction. The river crosses the Vasse Highway and then through Wonnerup Siding before discharging into the Vasse Estuary East of Busselton and finally the Indian Ocean. The river was named in 1834 by Frederick Ludlow. The name is Aboriginal in origin and is a greeting word used by the local peoples.
