Stol is the highest mountain in the Karavanke mountain range of the Southern Limestone Alps. The western part of the range was named in 1778 by Belsazar Hacquet and Franz Xaver von Wulfen the Kamnik Alps after the town of Kamnik in the valley of the Kamnik Bistrica River.

Glan (Gurk)
The Glan is a river in Carinthia, Austria, a right tributary of the Gurk. It rises north of the Wörthersee in the Ossiacher Tauern mountains, then running through Feldkirchen, going northeastwards passing Glanegg Castle until it reaches Sankt Veit where it bends sharply towards south. It flows through the Zollfeld Valley, the historical heart of the Carinthian duchy, and through Klagenfurt, the state capital.
