Christlieger
Christlieger is the name of the only island in the Königssee. It is located near the northern end of the lake, at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:47|35|08|N|12|35|17|E| | |name= }}. It is also called Johannesinsel (John's Island or St. John's), after the marble statue of John of Nepomuk that was erected on the island in 1711. The island is 61 meters long north-south and up to 26 meters wide, with an area of 1260 square meters.

The Alpawand (1,671 m) is the tallest rock face on the northwestern side of the Reiter Alps with height of over 600 m. In the central section of the face there are several classic Alpine climbing routes, that are rarely attempted.

Weitsee
Weitsee is a small lake on between Reit im Winkl and Ruhpolding with an area of 63.60 ha and a maximum depth of 9.30 m. The lake itself is separated in a shallow western and a deeper eastern part by a mountain halfisland. It is the first lake in the Dreiseengebiet (Three Lake Area) followed by the Mittersee and Lödensee. The lakes are located in the valley between the Gurnwandkopf und Dürrnbachhorn next to the Deutsche Alpenstraße B305 (German Alpine Street).
