Hallstätter Glacier

The Hallstätter Glacier (formerly also called the Karleisfeld or Karl Icefield) is the largest glacier in the Dachstein Mountains. It lies immediately beneath the northern foot of the Dachstein itself and runs down to the Eissee lake below the Simony Hut at a height of 2,205 m. To the east the Hallstätter Glacier is bounded by the High Gjaidstein.

Planai

Planai is a ski area in central Austria, the main mountain in the Schladming area in Styria. It is one of four adjoining mountains, which includes Hauser Kaibling, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm, connected under the name Schladminger 4-Berge-Schaukel. It is not regarded as a single mountain and all text from the official website cites the total amount of pistes. Planai is the host venue of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in 2013, held in early February.

Dachstein Chapel

The Dachstein Chapel in the Diocese of Linz is located immediately next to the Simony Hut in the Dachstein Mountains. It lies at a height of 2,206 m and is the highest place of worship in the Northern Limestone Alps. In 1925 a memorial to the Bishop of Linz, Rudolph Hittmair, was unveiled.
