Lungitz

Lungitz is a village in the community of Katsdorf, Perg district of Upper Austria, Austria. During World War II it was the site of slave labour and the "Gusen III" sub-camp of the Mauthausen-Gusen system later on. Although camp Gusen III was not opened earlier than December 1944, inmtes of camp Gusen worked in a brick production plant at Lungitz already in 1940. In this early period, these inmates drove by truck every day from Gusen via St. Georgen to Lunigtz.

Johannes Kepler University of Linz

The Johannes Kepler University of Linz is a public institution of higher education in Linz, the capital of Upper Austria. It offers bachelor's, master's, diploma and doctoral degrees in business, engineering, law, science, and the social sciences. Today, 19,300 students study at the park campus in the northeast of Linz, with 1 out of 9 students being from abroad. The university was the first in Austria to introduce an electronic student ID in 1998 and the whole campus has Wireless LAN coverage.

Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp

Mauthausen Concentration Camp grew to become a large group of Germany concentration camps that was built around the villages of Mauthausen and Gusen in Upper Austria, roughly 20 kilometres east of the city of Linz. Its history ran from the time of the Anschluss in 1938 to the last week of the Second World War. Initially a single camp at Mauthausen, it expanded over time and by the summer of 1940, Mauthausen had become one of the largest labour camp complexes in German-controlled Europe.
