Voestalpine AG is an international steel company based in Linz, Austria. The company is active in steel, automotive, railway systems, profilform and tool steel industries. 47 per cent of its workforce is based in Austria. The Linz hot strip mill is a "fully integrated steel works" operated by voestalpine Stahl GmbH, a part of the steel division of voestalpine AG. SolarCity Linz

The solarCity is an energy-saving living district in Linz-Pichling, Austria, which provides living space for about 4,000 people. The houses were built using a low-energy design. The idea and motivation for providing energy efficient living arrangements stems from the fact that fossil fuels contribute to global warming and that their use should therefore be avoided. Planning of the project began in 1992. Since 1999, 1,300 apartments were gradually built during a 6 year period.

Catholic-Theological Private University Linz

The Catholic-Theological Private University Linz is one of four universities in Linz, the capital of Upper Austria, with approximately 500 students enrolled. Its roots go back to 1672 and it is a Papal faculty since 1978. It is an accredited private university but its tuition fees currently (as of December 2004) match those of Austria's public universities.

Battle of Ebelsberg

The Battle of Ebelsberg, known in French accounts as the Battle of Ebersberg, was fought on 3 May 1809 during the War of the Fifth Coalition, part of the Napoleonic Wars. The Austrian left wing under the command of Johann von Hiller took up positions at Ebersberg on the Traun river. The French under André Masséna attacked, crossing a heavily defended 550-meter-long bridge and subsequently conquering the local castle, thus forcing Hiller to withdraw.

Donauhalle

Donauhalle is an indoor sporting arena located in Linz, Austria. Since the Donauhalle is sponsored by an Austrian insurance group in 2008 now it is called "Keine Sorgen Eisarena". The capacity of the arena is about 3,800 people and was built in 1986, which cost 6,3 million euro. The ice is 60 times 30m big. It is currently home of the EHC Black Wings Linz ice hockey team. Donauhalle also refers to an exhibition complex in Ulm, Germany.
