Shipyard, Belize

Shipyard is a village in the Orange Walk District of Belize. In the 2012 census, Shipyard had a population of 3'418 people. Most of the population are Mennonite. Most residents of Shipyard speak Low German. The Mennonites of Ship yard are a very integrated community most of them work as carpenters, farmers and mechanics.

Indian Church, Belize

Indian Church Village is a small remote village in the Orange Walk District of Belize. It is located on the west bank of New River, neighbouring the town of San Carlos to its south, and the Maya ruins of Lamanai to its north. There are approximately 280 people who reside in Indian Church, named for the historic Spanish churches recovered among the ancient Maya ruins.

Lamanai

Lamanai is a Mesoamerican archaeological site, and was once a considerably sized city of the Maya civilization, located in the north of Belize, in Orange Walk District. The site's name is pre-Columbian, recorded by early Spanish missionaries, and documented over a millennium earlier in Maya inscriptions as Lam'an'ain.
