Tarabuco

Tarabuco is a Bolivian town in the department of Chuquisaca, capital of the Yamparáez Province and its first section, Tarabuco Municipality. It is best known as the home of the Yampara culture. Its people host the Pujllay festival in March each year. Members of the local indigenous community gather for Mass, parade in their colorful traditional costumes, drink plenty of chicha, and celebrate. Each Sunday, a colorful and vibrant open-air market attracts locals and tourists alike.

The Mercado Campicino is the largest market in Sucre, Bolivia. It has been operating for 26 years and continues to grow with the popularity of market culture in Bolivia. The name of the market 'market of the people from the countryside', because many of the products are grown or manufactured outside of the city. The market is the most common place for indigenous people to conduct their business in Sucre. With a population of 300,000, approximately 20,000 people visit the market each day.
