Kampong Thom (city)

Kampong Thom (Khmer: ក្រុងកំពង់ធំ, "Grand Port") is the capital city of Kampong Thom Province, Cambodia lying on the bank of the Stung Sen River. It is served by the national highway, going from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh.

Prek Sbauv

Prek Sbauv is a small fishing village alongside the Sen River in northeastern Cambodia. Except for being the birthplace of Pol Pot, leader of the Khmer Rouge, Prek Sbauv is like any other fisher village of Cambodia. The village has no more than 10 houses, is located in Kampong Thom Province at 12° 41' 60 N; 104° 54' 0 E. It is on the central plain of the country. The village is located few meters at the northeast of the Tonle Sap.

Sambor Prei Kuk

The pre-Angkorian temple complex of Sambor Prei Kuk is located about 30 kilometers to the north of the town of Kampong Thom, Cambodia. It was also known as Isanapura, and was the capital of the Chenla Kingdom. Located on the Eastern bank of Tonle Sap close to the Sen River, the central part of Sambor Prei Kuk is divided into three main groups. Each group is located in a square lay out surrounded by a brick wall.
