Hinton, Alberta railway station
The Hinton railway station is on the Canadian National Railway mainline in Hinton, Alberta. The station is served by Via Rail's The Canadian three times per week in each direction as a flag stop (48 hours advance notice required). The station was opened in 1911 by the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. In 2003 the station building was moved to its current location where it is becoming part of an historical display.

Drinnan is a former village in western Alberta, Canada. It was incorporated as a village on January 1, 1957, but amalgamated with Hinton three months later on April 1, 1957. The former Village of Drinnan, commonly referred to now as the Hardisty District, is located in the valley portion of Hinton north of Canadian National Railway and south of the Athabasca River, approximately 5 km east of Hinton’s original townsite.

Brûlé Lake
Brûlé Lake is a lake in western Alberta, Canada. It is formed along the Athabasca River, immediately east of Jasper National Park and 30 km west of Hinton. The Brûlé Lake sand dunes are a popular place for all-terrain vehicle driving. The main line of the Canadian National Railway—which is also used by Via Rail's Canadian passenger train—passes on the western side of the lake, while the Yellowhead Highway passes on the eastern side.
