Seebe, Alberta

Seebe is a former hamlet in Alberta, Canada, within the Municipal District of Bighorn No. 8. It is a former Calgary Power Company Ltd. employee townsite that was closed on August 31, 2004. Seebe is located on the south side of the Bow River, adjacent to the Seebe Dam. It is 0.5 kilometres east of Highway 1X, 2 kilometres north of the Trans-Canada Highway and 2 kilometres south of Highway 1A.

While it is officially named Mount John Laurie, also known as Mount Laurie, it is best known now by the native name Mount Yamnuska, or simply Yamnuska. Yamnuski translates to "wall of stone. " John Laurie was a founder of the Indian Association of Alberta.

Kananaskis is an unincorporated community in Alberta's Rockies within the Municipal District of Bighorn No. 8 of Alberta, Canada. It is located on Highway 1A approximately 18 km east of Canmore and 54 km west of Cochrane. The community is located on the north shore of the Bow River.

Alberta Provincial Highway No. 68, also named Sibbald Creek Trail, is a highway in central Alberta, Canada, west of the City of Calgary. Cardium Formation

The Cardium Formation is a stratigraphical unit of Upper Cretaceous age in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. It takes the name from the Cockle (Cardiidae) shells, and was first described along the Bow River banks by James Hector in 1895.
