Glacier, British Columbia
Glacier is a railway whistlestop and locality near the summit of the Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park in British Columbia, Canada. Just east of the still-existing Canadian Pacific Railway station building at Glacier (and just inside the western portal of the Connaught Tunnel completed in 1916) is the current summit of the railway. There are a hotel, restaurant and service station nearby at the summit of the Trans Canada highway, just east of Glacier. There are no permanent residents.

1910 Rogers Pass avalanche
The 1910 Rogers Pass Avalanche was an avalanche which killed 62 men clearing a railroad line near the summit of Rogers Pass through the Selkirk Mountains in British Columbia on March 4, 1910. It is Canada's worst ever avalanche disaster.

Arthur O. Wheeler hut
The Arthur O. Wheeler hut is an alpine hut located four km southwest of Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park, British Columbia. Although not truly a backcountry hut, this log cabin is situated conveniently close to the Trans-Canada Highway in the Selkirk Mountains (west of the Rocky Mountains) is often used as a base for mountaineering, hiking, and ski touring into the Asulkan Range and Illecillewaet Glacier areas south of the highway, and the Hermit Range north of the highway.

2003 Connaught Creek Valley avalanche
The 2003 Connaught Creek Valley avalanche on Saturday 1 February 2003 killed seven teenagers in the Columbia Mountains at the foot of Mount Cheops east of Revelstoke, following another avalanche which had killed seven adult skiers on 20 January 2003 on the Durrand Glacier, located in the same area and caused by a rain crust formed at the same time.

Mount Macdonald Tunnel
The Mount Macdonald Tunnel, located in the vicinity of Rogers Pass in the Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia, Canada, is a railway tunnel constructed through Mount Macdonald by the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). The Mount Macdonald Tunnel supplements the nearby Connaught Tunnel that the CPR opened in 1916. Construction commenced in 1984, and the first revenue train passed through in 1988. At 14.7 km, the Mount Macdonald tunnel is the longest railway tunnel in the Americas.
