Hamilton River, Newfoundland and Labrador

Hamilton River is located in the Grand Falls area of Labrador. The post office was established here on July 31, 1952. The first Postmistress was Mrs Una Saunders. The mail arrived four times a week from Goose Bay. In 1954 the Postmaster was Robert H. Davis and in 1956, Gordon Bloomfield and 1957, Mrs. Emma Nila Shaw. On May 23, 1957 it became part of Happy Valley.

Amaruk Golf Club

Amaruk Golf Club is a public golf course located in Happy Valley–Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. A 9-hole golf course, it was constructed in the 1950s to serve American servicemen stationed at Goose Air Force Base and British servicemen stationed at RAFU Goose Bay.

Happy Valley-Goose Bay

Happy Valley-Goose Bay is a Canadian town in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Located in the central part of Labrador, the town is the largest population centre in that region. Incorporated in 1973, the town comprises the former town of Happy Valley and the Local Improvement District of Goose Bay. Built on a large sandy plateau in 1941, the town is home to the largest military air base in northeastern North America, CFB Goose Bay.

Churchill River (Atlantic)

The Churchill River is a river in Newfoundland and Labrador which flows east from the Smallwood Reservoir in Labrador into the Atlantic Ocean via Lake Melville. The river is 856 km long and drains an area of 79,800 km; it is the longest river in the province. It was named Hamilton River until 1965. This river was originally known as "Mishtashipu" by the Innu, translated as "la Grande rivière" and "Grand River" by French- and English-speaking settlers and traders.
