Port Union, Newfoundland and Labrador

Port Union is an interesting and historical community overlooking Trinity Bay and Catalina Harbour, on the east side of the Bonavista Peninsula, Newfoundland Canada. William Coaker founded the town as the base for the Fisherman's Protective Union in 1917. It was the base for the publication of the Fishermen's Advocate journal. In 1999, the original part of the town and the nearby hydroelectric plant were designated a National Historic Site of Canada.

Trinity Bay North

Trinity Bay North is a town in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is located at the northern tip of Trinity Bay. The town had a population of 1,539 in the Canada 2006 Census.

Green Island (Catalina), Newfoundland and Labrador

Green Island is located in eastern Newfoundland off the east coast of the Bonavista Peninsula near the entrance to Catalina Harbour. The nearest town is Port Union. A lighthouse on Green Island was established in 1857, and a foghorn was added in 1883. The light is a steady white light.

Catalina, Newfoundland and Labrador

Catalina is a community located on the eastern side of the Bonavista Peninsula, in the province of Newfoundland, Canada. Catalina adjoins the union town of Port Union, the town built for and home to the Fisherman's Union Company established by Sir William Coaker. The name of the town is purported by E.S. Seary to derive from the French Havre Sainte-Katherine which was later changed to the Spanish name Cataluna.
