Point May
Point May is the most southerly community on the Burin Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador with a population of about 150-250 people. It is a Catholic community with a church, town hall, fire hall, two stores, softball and soccer field. It is known for its close proximity to the French islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon, where the smuggling of liquor and tobacco has been a way of life since before Canada was a country.

Fortune Bay
Fortune Bay is a fairly large natural bay located on the south coast of the island of Newfoundland, Canada. The Bay is bounded by Point Crewe on the Burin Peninsula and Pass Island at the entrance to Hermitage Bay to the northwest for a distance of 56 kilometers. The bay extends in a northeast direction for 105 kilometers ending at Terrenceville. Within Fortune Bay there are also a number of inner bays and coves including, Connaigre Bay, Great Bay de l'Eau, Belle Bay and Long Harbour.

Lamaline
Lamaline is a town in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The town had a population of 480 in 1940, 643 in 1956 and 315 in the Canada 2006 Census. Lamaline was a small place with 10 families in 1864. The Way Office was established in 1863 and the first Waymaster was James Pittman.

Dantzig, Newfoundland and Labrador
Dantzig (Also known as Dantzic or Danzick) was a small town on the tip of the Burin Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador. It was likely named after the city of Gdańsk in Poland. The population was reported as 29 in the 1869 census. The population had declined to just two families in 1928 and the town was abandoned soon after.
