Emo Speedway Championships

The Emo Speedway is a racing facility, located in Emo, Ontario. It is operated by the Borderland Racing Association. In 2009, the track celebrated its 55th Anniversary of the original opening. The Borderland Racing Association currently hosts three different classes and range from Street Stocks (Entry level), the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds (Moderate Level), to WISSOTA Modifieds (Advanced Level).

Emo Speedway

Emo Speedway is a 3/8, high banked, dirt oval racetrack located in Emo, Ontario in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. It is located right inside the town on Colonization Road. Behind the racetrack is the Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society Fair Grounds. The track is located 30 km west of Fort Frances, and 52 km east of Rainy River along the border of Northern Minnesota, USA. The speedway was built in 1954 and hosted its season opener on July 30 of the same year.

Naicatchewenin First Nation

The Naicatchewenin First Nation, also known as the Anishinaabeg of Nagaajiwanaang and formerly known as Northwest Bay First Nation, inhabited a region in Ontario that was cited in the Northwest Angle Treaty of 1873, also known as Treaty 3. Nagaajiwanaang is located approximately 60 kilometres northwest of Fort Frances, with the community of Devlin 50 kilometres to the south on Highway 11. The city of Thunder Bay lies 420 kilometres to the east and Winnipeg is 450 kilometres to the northwest.
