Elliot Lake Secondary School

Elliot Lake Secondary School (ELSS) is a high school in Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada. The school began in 1956 with 23 students and quickly grew to 1193 students by 1990. The following year, the school only saw an enrollment of 899 students and the institution's population would continue to drop thereafter. As of September 2009, the enrolment was 483. The school's athletic teams are known as the "Atoms" in reference to the uranium mines that were the towns principle employer.

Villa Française des Jeunes

Villa Francaise Des Jeunes (VFJ) is a French-language Middle school and high school located in Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada. The school shares a track field with the neighbouring Elliot Lake Secondary School (ELSS). Founded in 1977, the institution has seen a drastic drop in enrolment for many years, which has seen some students participating in video-conferencing classes with many other students from all over Northern Ontario.

Canoe Lake (Lizard Creek)

Canoe Lake is a lake in Algoma District, Ontario, Canada, about 8 kilometres north of Serpent River. The lake is about 1,600 metres long and 400 metres wide, and the primary outflow is an unnamed creek that leads eventually to Lizard Creek, a tributary of the Serpent River, and thence into Lake Huron. There is a second Canoe Lake in Algoma District further west, Canoe Lake (Blind River), on the Blind River system.

Mississagi Provincial Park

Mississagi Provincial Park is a natural environment-class park north of Elliot Lake, in Algoma District, Ontario, Canada. It lies on the Boland River, a tributary of the Little White River, which is a tributary of the Mississagi River. The park is accessed via Highway 639. In late 2012, a release from the province stated that Mississagi Provincial Park would change it's status from that of an 'operating' to a 'non-operating' park due to low visitation rates.
