Joy Gas Stations

Joy Gas Stations operated uniquely designed stations in Toronto, Canada, in the 1930s for the Joy Oil Company Limited. The stations are examples of the Château style of architecture, a style that was promoted as a uniquely Canadian architectural form in the 1930s. Of the 16 stations built in the Greater Toronto Area, only one station survives today, at Lake Shore Boulevard West and Windermere Avenue built in 1937.

Humber Bay Arch Bridge

The Humber Bay Arch Bridge (also known as the Humber River Arch Bridge, the Humber River Pedestrian Bridge, or the Gateway Bridge) is a pedestrian and bicycle through arch bridge south of Lake Shore Boulevard West in Toronto, Canada. Completed in the mid-1990s, the bridge is 139 metres in length, with a clear span of 100 metres over the mouth of the Humber River to protect the environmental integrity of the waterway.

Colborne Lodge

Colborne Lodge is a historical museum located in an 1836s home in Toronto's High Park. John George Howard, an architect, engineer, and prominent Toronto citizen built this house, which became the property of the city following his death in 1890.

Sunnyside, Toronto

Sunnyside is a lakefront district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It includes a beach and park area along Lake Ontario's Humber Bay, to the west of the Exhibition grounds, at the foot of Roncesvalles Avenue where it meets King Street West and Queen Street West. In the 1910s, the area was the site of a massive waterfront reclamation public works project.
