Dawson College

Dawson College was the first English Collège d’enseignement général et professionnel and is located in Westmount, just west of downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Dawson College is situated near the heart of downtown Montreal in a former nunnery on approximately 4.85 hectares of green space. It is the largest CEGEP in the province of Quebec, with a student population of approximately eight thousand day students and three thousand evening students enrolled in more than fifty fields of study.

Montreal Arena

The Montreal Arena, also known as Westmount Arena, was an indoor arena located in Westmount, Quebec, Canada on the corner of St. Catherine Street and Wood Avenue. It was likely one of the first arenas designed expressly for hockey, opening in 1898. It was the primary site of amateur and professional ice hockey in Montreal until 1918.

Vendôme (AMT)

Vendôme is an AMT commuter rail station in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The station is located in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce area of the borough of Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and is served by the Vaudreuil-Hudson, Blainville–Saint-Jérôme and Candiac lines. The Vendôme AMT station is connected by a pedestrian tunnel to the Vendôme Montreal Metro station for interchange between AMT commuter trains and the Montreal Metro subway system. The station is in AMT's Fare Zone 1.

Vendôme is a station on the Orange Line of the Montreal Metro rapid transit system, operated by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM). It is located in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce area of the borough of Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The station is connected to the Vendôme AMT station by a pedestrian tunnel, permitting access to AMT commuter rail service on the Vaudreuil-Hudson, Blainville-Saint-Jérôme and Candiac lines.

Dawson College shooting

The Dawson College shooting occurred on September 13, 2006 at Dawson College, a CEGEP located in Westmount near downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The perpetrator, Kimveer Gill, began shooting outside the de Maisonneuve Boulevard entrance to the school, and moved towards the atrium by the cafeteria on the main floor. One victim died at the scene, while another 19 were injured, eight of whom were listed in critical condition, with six requiring surgery.
