Toconce is a small Chilean village located on the south rim of the Toconce River Canyon at 3,350 m above sea level. To the north, the landscape is dominated by the volcanoes Cerro Paniri, Cerro del León and Toconce.

Cerro del León
Cerro del León is a stratovolcano located in El Loa Province, Antofagasta Region, Chile. Chao dacitic lava dome separates it from Cerro Paniri, a stratovolcano, and to its east lies Chillahuita, another dacitic lava dome. Cerro Chao has a volume of about 26 cubic kilometres, making it the Earth's largest lava dome of its kind.

El Tatio
El Tatio is a geyser field located within the Andes Mountains of northern Chile at 4,200 meters above mean sea level. Contrary to some reports, it is not the highest-elevation geyser field in the world. Puchuldiza Geyser Field, Chile, and possibly several other fields are higher in elevation (Glennon, J.A. and Pfaff, R.M. , 2003). Tourists often visit the geysers while touring the nearby Atacama Desert and the village San Pedro de Atacama.
