Port of Suzhou

Port of Suzhou is an important inland river transport hub. It is in situated in Jiangsu province. Port of Suzhou consist of three ports in Zhangjiagang, Changshu and Taicang on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. The total cargo throughput of 428 million tons in 2012. It is the largest inland river port in China and also the seventh largest port around the world. The majority of the port trade is in coal, ore, steel, and construction materials such as cement.

Changshu

Changshu is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Suzhou, and is located in the south-eastern part of eastern-China’s Jiangsu Province as well as the Yangtze River Delta. Due to the mild climate and terrain there, it has enjoyed a high level of agriculture civilization since ancient times, and is named after this, for in Chinese Chang (常) means “always, often” and Shu (熟) has the meaning of “crop harvest”.

Jinchang District

Jinchang District is a former district of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. The district has an area of 35.7 km² and as of 2001 the population was around 250,000. The postal code for Jinchang District is 215008 and the telephone code is 0512. It is a part of Gusu District now.
