Xingjiao Temple

Xingjiao Temple is located in Shaoling Yuan, Chang'an District of Xi'an City. The five-storied Buddhist relic pagoda, preserving the relics of Xuanzang (玄奘), is inside the temple, along with the pagodas of his disciples, Kuiji and Yuance. Xingjiao Temple was built in AD 669 to re-inhume Xuanzang and was one of eight famed temples in Fanchuan in Tang Dynasty. Although the original Tang Dynasty stone pagoda is still standing, the temple was burnt to the ground at Tongzhi years in Qing Dynasty.

Zhongnanshan Tunnel

Zhongnanshan Tunnel, or Qinling Zhongnanshan Tunnel in Shaanxi province, China, is the longest two-tube road tunnel in the world. It is also the second longest road tunnel overall in the world, after the Lærdal Tunnel in Norway. The 18,040-metre long tunnel, crosses under the Zhongnan Mountain (Zhongnanshan). It opened on 20 January 2007, becoming part of the Xi'an-Ankang Highway between the Changan and Zhashui counties. The cost to build the tunnel was 3.2 billion yuan (US$410 million).

Han Dynasty

The Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD) was an imperial dynasty of China, preceded by the Qin Dynasty (221–207 BC) and succeeded by the Three Kingdoms (220–280 AD). It was founded by the rebel leader Liu Bang, known posthumously as Emperor Gaozu of Han. It was briefly interrupted by the Xin Dynasty (9–23 AD) of the former regent Wang Mang. This interregnum separates the Han into two periods: the Western Han (206 BC – 9 AD) and Eastern Han (25–220 AD).
