Battle of Dengbu Island

The Battle of Dengbu Island (登步島戰役) was a conflict between the Republic of China Army and People's Liberation Army over Dengbu Island near mainland China. This conflict occurred from November 3, 1949 to November 5, 1949 and resulted in a Republic of China victory. Nevertheless, the ROC was later forced to withdraw when the PRC gained air superiority over the region, leaving Dengbu Island in the control of the PRC.

Taohua Island

Mount Putuo

Mount Putuo is an island southeast of Shanghai, in Zhoushan prefecture of Zhejiang province, China. It is famous in Chinese Buddhism, and is considered the bodhimanda of Avalokitesvara, a revered Bodhisattva in many parts of East Asia. Mount Putuo is one of the four sacred mountains in Chinese Buddhism, the others being Mount Wutai, Mount Jiuhua, and Mount Emei. Mount Putuo lies on Eastern Sea of China and displays the beauty between sea and mountain.

Capture of Chusan

The first capture of Chusan by British forces in China occurred on 5–6 July 1840 during the First Opium War. The British captured Chusan, the largest island of an archipelago of that name.

Dinghai District

 Dinghai is a district of Zhoushan City made of 128 islands in Zhejiang province, China. It is based on the larger northwestern half of Zhoushan Island, where it borders Putuo in the east. The district boundary meets that of Daishan County entirely on sea to the north. Its southwestern boundary intersects those of Ningpo City entirely on sea.
