Jiashan County

Jiashan County (嘉善县; pinyin Jiāshàn Xiàn) is a county of Zhejiang Province, China, administered by the prefecture-level city Jiaxing. Jiashan is nicknamed the "The Land of Fish and Rice". It is 80 kilometers west of Shanghai, 95 kilometers east of Hangzhou, and 90 kilometers south of Suzhou. The county seat is located on 126 Jiashan Ave. , Weitang Town. The second campus of Sanda University, known as Guangbiao Institute, is located in Jiashan County.

Xitang

Xitang is an ancient scenic town in Jiashan County, Zhejiang Province, China. Its history dates back to at least the Spring and Autumn Period when it was located at the border of the State of Yue and Wu. Xitang is a water town crisscrossed by nine rivers. The town stretches across eight sections, linked by old-fashioned stone bridges. In the older parts of town, the buildings are set along the banks of the canals, which serve as the main transportation thoroughfares in the area.

Jiaxing Railway Station

Jiaxing Railway Station is a railway station located in Zhejiang, People's Republic of China, on the Shanghai–Kunming Railway. It is located in the city of Jiaxing. It handles all non-high-speed rail service for Jiaxing City. High-speed trains arrive at and depart from Jiaxing South Railway Station. Use of the station commenced in 1909, and in 1976, the facilities were modernized. In 2008, more work was carried out to improve and expand the station.

Battle of Lize

The Battle of Lize (笠泽之战)was fought between the states of Wu and Yue in the Warring States period of Chinese history. In 478 BC, Yue attacked Wu and defeated Wu's army. After this battle, Wu lost much of its power while Yue gained much territory, reversing the strength of the two states.

South Lake (Jiaxing)

South Lake is a scenic lake located in the South of Jiaxing City, China, and covers an area of 0.54 km². It is also known as "Mandarin Duck Lake", due to the lake's shape, and is a frequent destination of tourists and sightseers. Alongside the lake are the ruins of the Misty Rain Tower, which was built in the 10th century. In 1548 AD, during the Ming Dynasty, the local government dredged the waterways and piled up the mud into the center of South Lake, forming an islet.
