Yemenia Flight 626

Yemenia Flight 626 was an Airbus A310-324 twin-engine jet airliner, operated by Yemenia, operating as a scheduled international flight from Sana'a, Yemen, to Moroni, Comoros, that crashed on 30 June 2009 at around 1:50 am local time while on approach to Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport, killing all but one of the 153 passengers and crew on board. The sole survivor, 12-year-old Bahia Bakari, was found clinging to wreckage, after floating in the ocean for thirteen hours.

Stade Said Mohamed Cheikh

Stade Said Mohamed Cheikh is a multi-use stadium in Mitsamiouli, Comoros. It is currently used mostly for football matches. It was opened in 2007 as part of FIFA's Win in Africa with Africa program. It is named after former Comoros head, Said Mohamed Cheikh. It replaced Stade de Beaumer as the home of the Comoros national football team. It was the first stadium in the Comoros to host a CAF Champions League match.

Mitsamiouli

Mitsamiouli (population 6,100) is a city located on the island of Grande Comore in the Comoros. On 23 November 1996, Ethiopian Airlines Flight 961 made a crash-landing in the shallow waters 500 meters off shore from Le Galawa Beach Hotel in Mitsamiouli. Of the 175 passengers, 125 died, despite rescue attempts by island residents and tourists. Djoueria Abdallah, the first female member of the Assembly of the Union of the Comoros, comes from Mitsamiouli.
