Krk

Krk is a Croatian island in the northern Adriatic Sea, located near Rijeka in the Bay of Kvarner and part of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar county. Krk has for many years been thought the largest Adriatic island, with an area of 405.78 km, although recent measurements now give the neighbouring island of Cres an equal surface area. Krk is also the most populous island, with numerous towns and villages totalling 19,286 (2011).

Krk Cathedral

The Krk Cathedral or fully Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a cathedral in the town of Krk on the northern Adriatic island of Krk, Croatia. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Krk. The church was built in the 5th or 6th century but archeological evidence suggests that the site was used by Christians as early as 4th century. The cathedral is located beneath the Krk town hill. The first documented mention of the church dates from 1186.

Košljun

Košljun is a tiny island in Puntarska Draga bay off the coast of Krk, facing Punat, in the Adriatic Sea, Croatia. It is approximately 300 meters in diameter and covers an area of 6.5 hectares, but is rich in vegetation. The only inhabitants are a group of Franciscan monks living in St. Mary's Monastery.

Marina Punat

Marina Punat, the oldest marina in Croatia, founded in 1964. Almost 50 years ago the marina developed from the rich shipbuilding tradition, under the auspice of one of the oldest shipyards working with wood (Punat Shipyard was founded in 1922). It is situated in a naturally protected Punat bay, where, since 1984 the international Regatta “Croatia Cup” has been organised annually. It was the first marina on the eastern coast of the Adriatic.
