Équateur District is a district located in the Équateur Province, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Équateur was to be combined with the city of Mbandaka to form one of 25 proposed provinces specified in the 2006 Constitution, to take effect no later than February 2009. Mbandaka would be the capital of the new Équateur province. As of October 2010, this had not taken place.
