Kisangani

Kisangani /kiːsəŋˈɡɑːni/ (formerly Stanleyville) is the capital of Orientale Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is the third largest urbanized city in the country and the largest of the cities that lie in the tropical woodlands of the Congo.

Tshopo District

Tshopo District is a district located in Orientale Province, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is situated in the northeast of the country on the Tshopo River, for which it is named. Tshopo is one of 25 proposed provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo specified in the country's 2006 Constitution, due to take effect no later than February 2009. The province was to be formed from Tshopo District and the city of Kisangani, which would be the capital.

Simi-Simi Airport

Simi-Simi is the original airport of the city of Kisangani, Democratic Republic of the Congo, formerly called Stanleyville. In the turbulent times of Congo's independence and the subsequent struggles, it was the city's only airport, and thus was the scene of severe fighting during the Simba Rebellion and the associated operation Dragon Rouge in 1964.
