Semien Shewa Zone (Amhara)
Semien Shewa (or "North Shewa") is one of 10 Zones in the Ethiopian Amhara Region. Semien Shewa takes its name from the kingdom or former province of Shewa. The Zone is bordered on the south and the west by the Oromia Region, on the north by Debub Wollo, on the northeast by the Oromia Zone, and on the east by the Afar Region. The highest point in the Zone is Mount Abuye Meda (4012 meters); other prominent peaks include Mount Megezez.

Sela Dingay is a town in central Ethiopia. According to Johann Ludwig Krapf, the name means "the jumping stone", named for a rock which rolled over the edge of the southern rim of the gorge of the Mofar River, and killed a group of people sitting on it.

It was named in part after the central and southern districts of the former province of Menz, Mama Meder and Lalo Meder. Located at the eastern edge of the Ethiopian highlands in the Semien Shewa Zone, Mam Midrina Lalo Midir was bordered on the south by Termaber, on the west and north by Gera Midirna Keya Gebriel, on the northeast by Efratana Gidim, and on the east by Kewet.
