Abomsa is a town in central Ethiopia; the name comes from the Oromo word for "friend, comrade". Located in the Arsi Zone of the Oromia Region, the town has a latitude and longitude of {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:8|35|N|39|51|E||| | |name= }} and an altitude of 1438 meters. It is the administrative center of Merti woreda. According to the Oromia Regional government, this town currently has telephone and postal service, and is provided with electricity on a 24 hour a day basis.
