Central Division, Fiji

The Central Division of Fiji is one of Fiji's four divisions. It consists of five provinces - Naitasiri, Namosi, Rewa, Serua and Tailevu. The capital of the division is Suva, which is also the capital of Fiji. The division includes the eastern part of the largest island in Fiji, Viti Levu, with a few outlying islands, including Beqa. It has a land border with the Western Division on Viti Levu, and sea borders with the Northern Division and Eastern Division.

Rewa Province

Rewa is a province of Fiji. With a land area of 272 square kilometers (the smallest of Fiji's Provinces), it includes the capital city of Suva (but not most of Suva's suburbs) and is in two parts - one including part of Suva's hinterland to the west, and a noncontiguous area to the east, separated from the rest of Rewa by Naitasiri Province. The Province had a population of 100,787 at the 2007 census, making it Fiji's third most populous Province.

Nasinu

Nasinu is an urban area on the island Viti Levu in Fiji. It is officially designated a "Town" (and was formally incorporated as such in 1999) despite its population (87,446 at the 2007 Census). Nasinu is the most populous municipality in Fiji, having overtaken that of Suva, and is one of Fiji's fastest-growing towns. Its land area is the largest of any municipal area in Fiji, and more than twice that of Suva.

Tailevu Province

Tailevu is one of the 14 provinces of Fiji. One of eight Provinces based in Viti Levu, Fiji's largest island, its 755 square kilometers occupy the south-eastern fringe of the island, along with some central areas. At the 2007 census, the most recent to date, it had a population of 55,692, the fifth largest among the Provinces. The main urban area of Tailevu is Nausori with a population of 21,645 in 1996. Tailevu includes the districts of Bau, Nakelo, Verata, Wainibuka, and Sawakasa.
