Roman Catholic Diocese of Cayenne
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Cayenne (erected 1651, as the Prefecture Apostolic of French Guiana-Cayenne) is a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Fort-de-France. It was elevated on to the Vicariate Apostolic of French Guiana-Cayenne on 10 January 1933 and to the Diocese of Cayenne on 29 February 1956.

Jardin botanique de Cayenne
The Jardin botanique de Cayenne (3 hectares) is a botanical garden located at the end of the Avenue Charles de Gaulle, adjacent to the university, in Cayenne, French Guiana. Although the Conseil Général de la Guyane states that the garden, formerly the Jardin du Roi (King's Garden), was established in 1879, there are earlier references to a botanical garden in Cayenne (e.g. Cosnard, 1828). It now contains a statue of politician Gaston Monnerville (1897-1991).
