Eichberg Tower

The Eichberg Tower is an observation tower on the 369 m high Eichberg mountain above the city of Emmendingen. The tower platform sits 10 m above the surrounding oak forest, and its top over 17 mm making it the highest observation tower in the state of Baden-Württemberg. The tower, created by an association of citizens formed in 1999, was handed over to the city of Emmendingen on September 17, 2005 and is now open to the public.

Wasser, Germany

Wasser is a village in southwest Germany, in the Upper Rhine Valley, located at the Elz River. In June 2005, Wasser had 1717 inhabitants. In the mid-1970s it was part incorporated into the city of Emmendingen.

The Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics (MPI) in Freiburg, Germany, is an interdisciplinary research institute that conducts basic research in modern immunobiology and developmental biology. It was founded in 1961 as Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and is one of 80 institutions of the Max Planck Society. The researchers of the MPI study the development of the immune system and analyse the genes and molecules which are important for its function.

Schutter (Kinzig)

The Schutter is a 55 kilometer long river in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, a left tributary of the Kinzig. The source is located at the Hünersedel at 680 m height. From there the Schutter runs firstly westwards through the Schuttertal and after an almost right-angled crease in a northerly direction it passes the towns of Seelbach and Lahr. It leaves then the Black Forest and flows parallel to the Rhine through the Upper Rhine Graben until it joins the Kinzig at Kehl.
