Sarchinger Weiher

Sarchinger Weiher is a lake in Landkreis Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany. At an elevation of 330 metres, its surface area is 0.28 square kilometers. The lake is a flooded gravel-pit. In the surrounding area, there are several small lakes created by gravel quarrying. The north-western, north-eastern, and south-western banks were filled up with sand to create a beach and make the water shallow for children. On these banks, there are also kiosks, lavatories and official fireplaces for barbecues.

Frauenzell Abbey

Frauenzell Abbey or Priory (Kloster Frauenzell) was a house of the Benedictine Order located at Brennberg in Bavaria in Germany. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the monastery was founded in 1321 by Reinmar of Brennberg. At first a cell or priory of Oberalteich Abbey, it was granted the status of an abbey in its own right in 1424. It was dissolved in 1803 in the secularisation of the period.

Walhalla memorial

The Walhalla is a hall of fame that honors laudable and distinguished people, famous personalities in German history — politicians, sovereigns, scientists and artists of the German tongue". The hall is housed in a neo-classical building above the Danube River, east of Regensburg, in Bavaria, Germany. The Walhalla is named for Valhalla of Norse mythology. It was conceived in 1807 by Crown Prince Ludwig, who built it upon ascending the throne of Bavaria as King Ludwig I.

Aufhausen Priory

Aufhausen Priory (Kloster Aufhausen), formerly the Aufhausen Oratory, is a Benedictine monastery located at Aufhausen near Regensburg in Bavaria, Germany. The original community, dedicated to Saint Mary of the Snows, was founded in the late 17th century as an Oratorian community by the local priest, J.G. Seidenbusch. It was not dissolved during the secularisation of Bavaria in 1802–03, but remained under the title "Königliches Nerianerinstitut" (Royal Nerian Institute), at least until 1829.
