Arresting

For the aircraft term see Arresting gear Arresting is a small rural village in the Kelheim district of Lower Bavaria, first mentioned in 1086. It is situated about 7 km north of Neustadt an der Donau, on the left bank of the Danube. There are some 130 inhabitants. The former independent municipality of Arresting was incorporated into Neustadt an der Donau in 1972.

Paar

The Paar is a river in Germany and a right tributary of the Danube. For several tens of kilometers it flows parallel to the Lech, at only a few km distance. Near Augsburg, the Paar leaves the Lech valley and turns north-east towards Ingolstadt. It flows into the Danube near Vohburg. Towns along the Paar include Egling, Mering, Aichach, Schrobenhausen and Manching.

Abens

The Abens is a river in Bavaria, Germany, and a right-bank tributary of the Danube. Its source is near Au in der Hallertau. Some 76 km long, it flows generally northward through the small towns of Au in der Hallertau, Rudelzhausen, Mainburg, Siegenburg, and Abensberg. It empties into the Danube at Eining, part of Neustadt an der Donau.

Biburg Abbey

Biburg Abbey (Kloster Biburg) was a house of the Benedictines located at Biburg in Bavaria, Germany. The monastery, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, was founded in 1132 by Konrad and Arbo von Sittling-Biburg, sons of the Blessed Berta of Biburg, who donated their castle to the Bishop of Bamberg for the purpose. The foundation was originally a double monastery for both men and women; the nunnery however burnt down in 1258 and was not re-built.
