Amper

The Amper (known in its upper reaches as the Ammer) is a river in southern Bavaria, Germany. It is the largest tributary of the Isar river. The Amper flows into the Isar in Moosburg, 185 kilometres from its source and with a flow of 45 m³/s. It runs through the Ammersee; upstream of the Ammersee it is known as the Ammer. Its major tributaries are the Glonn, the Würm (the outflow of Lake Starnberg), and the Maisach. Cities along the Amper include Fürstenfeldbruck, Dachau and Moosburg.

It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Kelheim, Landshut, Erding, Munich, Dachau and Pfaffenhofen. The district is located north of the Munich metropolitan area. The Isar and Amper rivers run in parallel from southwest to northeast.

Hallertau

The Hallertau or Holledau is an area in Bavaria, Germany. At 178 km², it is listed as the largest continuous hop-planting area in the world. According to the International Hop Growing Convention, Germany produces roughly one third of the world's hops (used as flavoring and stabilizers during beer brewing), over 80% of which are grown in the Hallertau.
