Eichmühle

The Eichmühle is an old corn mill on the banks of the river Regen in the village of Regenstauf not far from the city of Regensburg in Bavaria, Germany. The foundation walls of the building, whose water wheel is today used to produce electricity, dates to the late 15th century. In 1686 the mill owner, Anna Bayer, was declared a witch and prosecuted in a witch trial. Today there is a French restaurant and beer garden in the old Eichmühle at Regenstauf.

Vils (Naab)

The Vils is a river in Bavaria, Germany, right tributary of the Naab. Its source is near Freihung. It is approx. 87 km long. It flows generally south through the towns Vilseck, Amberg and Schmidmühlen. It flows into the Naab in Kallmünz.

Pielenhofen Abbey

Pielenhofen Abbey is a former Cistercian nunnery (founded in 1240), in Pielenhofen in the valley of the Naab, Bavaria, Germany. It was occupied until 2010 by the Visitandines, also known as the Salesian Sisters. The Diocese of Regensburg maintains a school here.

Regensburg (district)

Regensburg is an administrative district in Bavaria, Germany. It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Schwandorf, Cham, Straubing-Bogen, Kelheim and Neumarkt. Regen (river)

The Regen is a river in Bavaria, Germany, and a left tributary of the Danube, at Regensburg, Germany. The source of its main headstream, the Großer Regen ("Big Regen"), is located in the Bohemian Forest on the territory of the Czech Republic, near Železná Ruda. The river crosses the border after a few kilometres, at Bayerisch Eisenstein. The name in German evolved from the name in Latin, whose meaning is unknown.
