Mandovi River
The Mandovi River, also known as Mahadayi or Mhadei river, is described as the lifeline of the state of Goa, India. The river has a length of 77 kilometers, 29 km in Karnataka and 52 kilometers in Goa. It originates from a cluster of 30 springs at Bhimgad in the Western Ghats in the Belgaum district, Karnataka. The river, has 2032 km catchment area in Karnataka while 1,580 km catchment area in Goa.

Ponte Conde de Linhares
The Ponte Conde de Linhares, often shortened to Ponte de Linhares is a 3 km long causeway connecting Ribandar to the main city of Panjim in Goa. On the south side is the Khazan salt pans and to the north is the Mandovi River. There are ducts which act as tide controls. Ponte Conde de Linhares was built in 1633 under the direction of the then Viceroy of Portuguese India, Miguel de Noronha, 4th Count of Linhares, after whom it is named.
