Anjar is a town and a municipality in Kutch district in the state of Gujarat, India. The landscape is dry and sandy, and it depends entirely on well irrigation for water. The town is situated nearly 10 miles from the Gulf of Kutch. The town was made capital of Kachchh on Vikram Sawant Magsar vad 2, 1602 (approx. 1545 CE) by Maharao Khengarji for the third time.
