Sirsi, Karnataka

Sirsi is a city in the North Kanara district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Sirsi was also know by the name Kalyanapattana during the Sonda Dynasty. It is a hill station town with a population of around 1,20,000 people. This is the largest city in North Kanara district. Sahasralinga

Sahasralinga is a pilgrimage place in the Sirsi Taluk in the district of Uttara Kannada of Karnataka state in India. It is in the river Shalmala and is famous for being the location where around a thousand lingas which are carved on the rocks in the river bank. In fact, the name Sahasralinga means thousand-lingas in Sanskrit.
