Jayamangali Blackbuck Reserve

Jayamangali (formerly Maidenahalli) Blackbuck Conservation Reserve is Tumkur District's only notified protected area. It neighbours Maidenahalli, a small village in Madhugiri Taluk, at the north-eastern tip of Tumkur district of Karnataka state, India. This area is a part of the plains of Deccan plateau and borders Anantpur District of Andhra Pradesh. It is a 798-acre patch of grassland with Eucalyptus and Acacia auriculiformis.

Hindupur

Hindupur is the second biggest town and Mandal headquarters located in Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh, India. Hindupur was given its name by a Maratha Chieftain called Murari Rao, who named this town after his father Hindoji Rao, or after a king named Hindurao. The Hindupur Parliamentary Constituency is also a Special grade 1 municipality. The border between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka state passes through Hindupur and Koratagere taluk in Karnataka.

Gauribidanur

Gauribidanur is a historical town in Kolar district; now a part of Chikballapur district in the state of Karnataka, India. It is about 75 km from Bangalore, and 25 km from the Educational Hub of Muddenahalli-Kanivenarayanapura. Along with the native language of Kannada, the other languages of Telugu and Urdu are spoken since the town borders the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh. It has five hobli namely Manchenahalli, Hossur, Thondebhavi, Dorinayakanapalya (D. Palya) and Nagaragere.

Madhugiri

Madhugiri is a Taluk headquarters in Tumkur district in the Indian state of Karnataka. The town derives its name from a hillock, Madhu-giri (honey-hill) which is to the north of the place. Madhugiri has been declared as Educational District by karnataka state educational department. It includes Madhugiri, Sira, Koratagere and Pavagada Taluks. At 3,930 ft elevation, Madhugiri is a single hill. It is the second largest monolith in Asia.
