Kumta

Kumta - Brief by Ajit Ashok Acharya is a city and a taluka in the Uttara Kannada district in the state of Karnataka, India. Kumta It is a coastal city and is about 142 km south of the city Margao and 58 km north of Bhatkal. The city lies on NH 66 running between Panvel and Edappally and its one of the major stations along the Konkan Railway line running between Mumbai and Mangalore. The Sharavathi Bridge is a railway bridge, south of Honnavar, in the state of Karnataka, India, completed in 1994. It carries the Konkan Railway over the Sharavathi river. It is 2,060 metres long, and is the longest bridge on that railway, and the longest railway bridge in the state.
