Payyanur Railway Station is a major railway station serving the town of Payyanur in the Kannur District of Kerala. It lies in the Shoranur - Mangalore Section of the Southern Railways. The station has 3 platforms and 4 tracks. No trains originate from the station. Indian Naval Academy

The Indian Naval Academy (NAVAC, also known as INA or Ezhimala) is the initial officer training establishment of the Indian Navy, located in Ezhimala, Kerala. Situated between Mount Dilli and the Kavvayi backwaters, NAVAC has a 7 km beach front on the Arabian Sea. It conducts basic training for all officers inducted into the Indian Navy. It also currently trains Indian Coast Guard personnel . NAVAC was established in May 1969, while its Ezhimala campus was inaugurated on 8 January 2009.

Kavvayi Backwater

Kavvayi Backwater or Kavvayi Kayal located near Payyannur is the third largest backwaters in Kerala and the largest one in north Kerala. Locally called as Kavvayi Kayal or the backwaters of Kavvayi, this lesser known lake of northern Kerala is fed by five rivers viz. River Kavvayi and its tributary streams Kankol, Vannathichal, Kuppithodu, and Kuniyan. Kavvayi backwaters is named after the Kavvayi island close to Payyannur.

Payyanur

Payyanur is a Municipal Town situated at the northern end of Kannur district in North Malabar region of Kerala, India. This Municipality consists of three administrative villages viz. Vellur, Korom and Payyanur. Other villages are; Annur and Kokkanissery. The town is situated on the banks of Perumba River.

Korom

Korom (the traditional local pronunciation is "Ko-ro-m") is a village in Payyanur, Kerala. This village have an important place in the history of Communist movement in Kerala. The village is renowned for the famous Hindu temple, Chenankavu Bhagavathi Temple where the Goddess Bhagavathi is enshrined and attracts a number of Bhagavathi devotees. Village also have Muchilottu Kavu, a Hindu shrine where some of the most famous Theyyam performances are being held annually.
