Ratlam

Ratlam  pronunciation, known historically as Ratnapuri, is a city in the northwestern part of the Malwa region in Madhya Pradesh state of central India. The city of Ratlam lies 1,575 feet (480 meters) above sea level. It is the administrative headquarters of Ratlam district, which was created in 1947 after the independence of India. Ratlam is also very well known for Gold, Ratlami Sev, Ratlami Saari and its people.

Ratlam Junction railway station

Ratlam is a major junction and rail division on Indian Railways on meter and broad gauge lines. It comes under Western Railways zone of Indian Railways. Ratlam is one of the busy and revenue generating junction for western railways. There are Four major Railway Tracks passes through Ratlam City, these are along Mumbai, Delhi, Ajmer and Khandwa, among which the railway track along Khandwa is a Meter Gauge track. Ratlam is connected to Indore and Neemuch via National Highway no. 79.

Sailana is a town and a nagar panchayat in Ratlam district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is located in the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. Sailana is 25 km from Ratlam town and 50 km away from Banswara district of the neighboring state of Rajasthan. A Fort belonging to the former princely state still stands tall in Sailana, and houses the famous Cactus Garden. The Kedareshwar temple, situated 4 km from Sailana is a notable shrine.
