Shevgaon
Shevgaon is a city in Shevgaon tehsil of Ahmednagar in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Avhane - Temple of Ganesh (Nidrista/Sleeping). Ghotan- Ancient Temple of Lord Shiva(7 km from Shevgaon towards Paithan) it is at Avhane, and not in GHOTAN. AVHANE IS 15 km from Ahmednagar. Shevgaon was traditionally been "shiv" or boundary between western Maharashtra and Marathwada regions. Many villages of this tehsil were sub-merged into waters of Jayakwadi dam in 1970s.

The city was the capital of the Sātavāhana empire of ancient India that ruled from 2nd century BC to 2nd century AD. It is one of the few inland towns mentioned in the famous 1st century AD Greek book, Periplus Maris Erytharaei. Paithan is located 56 km south of present-day Aurangābād on the Godavari River in Maharashtra.

Battle of Palkhed
The Battle of Palkhed was fought on February 28, 1728 at the village of Palkhed, near the city of Nashik, Maharashtra, India between the Maratha Peshwa, Baji Rao I and the Nizam-ul-Mulk of Hyderabad. The Marathas defeated the Nizam. The battle is considered an example of brilliant execution of military strategy.
